Today, as we celebrate the gift of the Body and Blood of Christ, we hear Jesus ask his disciples, “Why do you not give them something to eat yourselves?” And he shows them how through the multiplication of the five loaves and two fishes.
Ms. A has faced many challenges, including losing her mattress during a move. With a limited income from her part-time job, she couldn’t afford a new one and was sleeping on an air mattress lent by her daughter. Our team quickly responded, finding a queen mattress and box spring at a thrift store, and arranged for a donated bed frame. They delivered and assembled everything, giving Ms. A a proper place to rest.
Our Fifth Sunday collection will take place next weekend. Know that when you donate, the miracle of the loaves and fishes will happen again, and the hungry will be fed.
