In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus affirms that to be a disciple we must also sit at his feet and listen to him. St. Vincent de Paul taught that it is only in prayer that we can give selfless loving service to those who are poor.
Ms. O, a pregnant mother of four, had recently stepped away from her role as a store manager due to unresolved workplace issues. With no income and growing needs at home, she turned to our community for help.
Volunteers accompanied Ms. O to a thrift store, where she purchased essential clothing. This timely support eased the family’s financial strain and ensured the children were comfortably and appropriately dressed during a challenging time of transition.
