July 13: Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jul 13, 2025

In today’s Gospel, when Jesus asks “which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?” the scholar of the law answered, “the one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus then said, “Go and do likewise.”

Mr. N and his family—refugees from Afghanistan—arrived in the U.S. facing profound financial hardship. Unemployed and preparing for the birth of their fourth child, they moved into an unfurnished home with little more than hope.

Thanks to the generosity of our conference, the family received essential furnishings: beds, a dining table, and chairs. This timely support provided more than just comfort—it helped create a safe, stable environment for the children and expectant mother.

This week you can also “treat the poor with mercy” by donating to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
